But Meng Baiya quickly grabbed his arm and gave a soft, sweet smile. “Why don’t you hear Yanhuai out first, Dr. Mei? Maybe once you know why he wants to remove my sister from Heavenly Medical Valley, you’ll have an easier time deciding whether or not to help.”
“Tell me about it.”
A cold glint flashed in Meng Baiya’s eyes as she let out a soft sigh. “To be honest, my sister was originally engaged to Yanhuai. But for some reason, she started seducing another man. In the end, she even lost her chastity. Both the Meng and Ke families caught her in the act.”
“Yanhuai truly cared about my sister,” she said softly. “But after what she did—something so disgraceful—how could the prestigious Ke Family still marry her? So, the engagement was called off, and she ended up enrolling at Heavenly Medical Valley.”
Mei Shuhai lifted his eyes and gave a surprised glance at the grim-faced Ke Yanhuai, then nodded. “A woman that shameless and immoral—of course, someone like Mr. Ke can’t be expected to accept her.”
Meng Baiya grinned, but her face took on a sorrowful expression. “But Zisu is still my sister, and she was once Yanhuai’s fiancée. Both of us hoped she would feel ashamed and change her ways. But instead, ever since she started studying at Heavenly Medical Valley, she’s only gotten worse—still going around trying to seduce other men without a hint of remorse.”
